Kia Canada has released official pricing and specifications for the all-new 2025 Carnival Hybrid, set to arrive at Canadian dealerships in early 2025. The new model introduces hybrid technology to Kia's versatile family vehicle, offering improved fuel efficiency and updated design elements. This pioneering addition to the Carnival lineup marks Kia's first foray into hybrid minivan territory.
Design Updates Enhance Aesthetic Appeal
The 2025 Carnival Hybrid features a redesigned front-end, incorporating Kia's signature star map lighting similar to the EV9 model. Gunmetal finish accents on bumper trims, moldings, roof rails, door garnish, and skid plates complement the new black grille and wheels. For those seeking a more sophisticated look, a 'dark edition' will be available on SX and SX+ trims.
David Sherrard, Director of Strategic Planning at Kia Canada, emphasized the Carnival's versatility: "The Carnival truly is the perfect life utility vehicle to meet the needs of any family. This 2025 model year specifically is robust with options and flexibility, be it seating configuration, convenience, safety features and now the introduction of a hybrid powertrain."
Hybrid Powertrain Boosts Performance and Efficiency
At the heart of the 2025 Carnival Hybrid is a 1.6L turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor. This combination delivers a total output of 242 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, channeled through a 6-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid system's drive motor produces 54kW, the highest output among all Kia hybrid models.
The new Carnival Hybrid achieves impressive fuel economy ratings of 6.9L/100 km in the city, 7.6 L/100 km on the highway, and 7.2L/100 km combined. Drivers can further optimize efficiency by selecting different levels of regenerative braking using paddle shifters.
